I haven't purchased any Japanese e-mooks for their GWPs recently, so I was really excited to get my hands on this Alice in Wonderland e-mook in celebration of its 150th anniversary. (Amazing how this children's tale has been told for more than a century and a half!) The main reason was because the GWP was a super cute bag shaped like an Alice in Wonderland storybook.
Long story short: I searched for it on the Kinokuniya Malaysia website but it wasn't listed, so I went to Kinokuniya at KLCC and enquired. Placed an order, waited a couple of weeks, and finally picked it up last month. (◡‿◡✿)
I love how the cover has a vintage newspaper kind of layout, with adorable illustrations of scenes in the story. The pages inside this e-mook is also probably one of the prettiest I've ever seen, chock full of Alice in Wonderland special illustrations and information. Unfortunately, they are all in Japanese, which I can't read. >_<

Open up the cardboard box and you'll see the bag nestled inside. I was rather surprised and a little disappointed that the printed sides of the bag were made from a sort of tough felt-like material. It will definitely get dirty with use, and washing it might cause the design to fade. However, the handle and other outer parts are made from a creamy beige PVC material, which looks and feels very nice. The design is also adorably quaint, reminiscent of old storybook covers. I particularly love the back cover design, even more than the front, haha!
Other than the slight disappointment with the material of the bag, I like how the size is just nice for everyday use (about 1" smaller than A4 size) and is roomy enough to fit essentials like wallet and phone, with extra space for other things. It does not have inner pockets (unlike this GWP which I'm still using), but I don't really mind.
I'm not really an Alice in Wonderland fan, but I'm glad I picked this up not only because of the book-shaped bag, but also because the contents of the e-mook itself was, well... wonderful. (✿◠‿◠)

ShopGirl: If you're an Alice in Wonderland fangirl, then you'll definitely LOVE this! I'm not a huge fan and even I'm in love with the pretty illustrations. I have another copy (accidentally double booked) under my name, so let me know if you want to get it. :) The bag does get dirty rather easily though ^^;;
That bag looks so pretty. :) It is also nice that it has a zipper. The tote bags that I have as GWP with Japanese magazines cannot be closed.

i had to google what e-mook is hehe! its really quite interesting, wish i could see one in person. if ever this would be something id want to buy first. love alice in wonderland! plus i like the little purse. id hate the material too tho but design is special <3

Michelle: Yup, most Japanese GWP bags don't have zipper (learnt that the hard way when buying Japanese magazines several years back, lol). Nowadays I keep note of which ones look promising and make a note to check them out at Kinokuniya before buying.

Shayne: Haha I feel the same! Japanese magazines usually come with pretty good GWPs so it's good to keep a look out, especially for limited edition ones. I love the bag but it does get dirty quite easily T_T
Ahleessa: Cute is definitely the keyword! :D We're lucky to have a Kinokuniya here, but perhaps you can try looking around online? Although they might be quite expensive when combined with shipping fees. Even here, it's many times more expensive compared to the original price in Japanese Yen. >_<
The bag is seriously pretty! How come you always obtained such cute GWP items every time? haha
Mizu: I got to know about it from a blog or website (can't remember which). :D They're pretty pricey though, compared to the price in Japan T__T
