♫ JYJ - Back Seat
お早う みなさん!(Good morning, everybody!)
Today's post will be something I'm super passionate about - eyeliner! Have I ever mentioned that my HG eyeliner is K-Palette's eyeliner? No? Well, now you know. (˘ v ˘) Anyway, from the moment I saw this baby at SaSa, I knew it was time to retire my old faithful (1 Day Tattoo Real Lasting Eyeliner) since it was already running dry, and let its adorable pink successor take its place.
Let me introduce to you, the K-Palette 1 Day Magic Liquid Eyeliner! It was definitely love at first sight (sorry, 1 Day Tattoo ⌒_⌒;), and honestly, can you blame me?
You might be wondering, how is this one different from the other K-Palette liquid eyeliners (besides the pretty pink packaging)? Well, aside from the usual claims of being super pigmented ✓, waterproof ✓, smudge-proof ✓, and easy to remove ✓, the 1 Day Magic Liquid Eyeliner also contains essence ingredients (sodium hyaluronate, soluble collagen, swertia japonica extract) that is gentle on the eyelids, and the main selling point... a flat end brush that allows you to easily draw thin or thick lines!

Allow me a few moments to wax lyrical (pun intended - see the background) and graphical about just how exquisitely pretty the packaging is, from the paper packaging to the eyeliner pen itself. I can hardly bear to throw away the paper packaging. ಥ_ಥ

Alright, now that we've established the pleasantly aesthetic part of the eyeliner, it's time to focus on the function. Form and function? You'll be glad to know that this is one makeup item that checks both and then some.
As mentioned above, the main selling point of this eyeliner pen is the fact that it has a flat end brush tip. Most eyeliner pens nowadays are competing to see who can come up with the thinnest, finest tip *cough* but this 1 Day Magic Liquid Eyeliner prides itself based on the fact that you can draw very thin lines using its fine tip side, or a thicker line (3 times thicker than the thin side) using the flat side. [Sounds familiar but infinitely better in every way, eh?]
Flat tip side vs Fine tip side |
3x thicker lines just by rotating the brush 90°! |
Comparison: fine vs flat |
Conclusion? The K-Palette liquid eyeliner is still my HG eyeliner. Same amazing formula, new improved design, and super cute packaging make it a joy to use. Extra love because I managed to snag it at 30% off retail price even though it's a new product! ψ(`∇´)ψ
✓ Pros: Cute packaging, practical design, extremely pigmented, dries fast, slight glossy finish, able to draw thin and thicker lines, waterproof, smudge-proof, easily removed.
✗ Cons: Slightly pricey.
The K-Palette 1 Day Magic Liquid Eyeliner (Super Black) retails at RM 51.90 and is available at SaSa outlets. Product is made in Japan.

It is so pretty! XD love the bow.
I am guilty of keeping my eyeliners for too long. Aih...
I better check out this new baby. Thanks for the review. :)
THe packaging is cute. The result is great but the price is quite pricey >_< MISS IKA'S BLOG
ermmmm will try this eyeliner once I finish my inglot ones...i still love pencil or gel liner as it give more natural look and no need wait for drying time!
Rikajue: Haha IKR! I'm a sucker for pretty/cute packaging lllorz but K-Palette eyeliners are pretty awesome (and last a very long time :D)
Ika: Well, my old K-palette eyeliner lasted over a year (more like close to 2 years, I think? HAHAHA *looks guilty*) so I'd say it's worth the price. XD
Cindy: Pencil/gel ones are awesome for the waterline, hehe, but I love liquid ones because they're easy to draw smooth lines. Don't mind waiting a few secs for it to dry. XD
Wow the packaging of this eyeliner is so pretty~~ I only own the original black one and i personally really love the formula too ^O^ It's so long lasting hehe, it looks really nice on you though, I love how you demonstrated both thin and thick lines with the eyeliner ~
Great review :)

Lovely review post, Laura.
I like the K-Palette liners and often pick up the regular one from SASA when they are one sale but I haven't noticed this one before.
The packaging between this and the other brands like Dolly Wink and Koji can be so confusing but they're actually all pretty good. I love Japanese liners and I think their quality comes from the superior brush tradition of Japan.
Will look out for this! Made In Japan liners are always amazing.
please do a video tutorial !
Fifi: I owned the original black one too (threw it away already coz it's almost dried up) and it's really one of the best eyeliners I've used. This one is just as pigmented and amazing as the original, just with prettier packaging (kyaaaa~ <3) and you can draw thin/thicker lines with it. I'd definitely recommend purchasing this if you love the original. ;)
ShopGirl: Thank you! ^^ I've been using the original K-Palette for the past couple of years, and it's honestly one of the best I've tried/used. Not only does it allow me to draw thin/dramatic lines, it also stays on for the whole day. I admit, all these Korean/Japanese cosmetics make me pick them up because of the pretty packaging, but more often than not, I find that they also work as well as claimed! Indeed, the Japanese brands brush liners are the best for that price point (not including the high end, pricey brands that I have no budget to buy HAHAHA). If you do see this on sale, I highly recommend you pick one (or two :P) up, hehe~
Chqz: Maybe not so soon, but in the future when I have more confidence and the proper software/equipment to do a video tutorial! :D Thank you for the suggestion and encouragement, dear ^^
