Etude House My Blooming Lips-Talk Limited Edition Etude Pink |
Earlier last month, Etude House released a new, limited edition version of their My Blooming Lips-Talk lipstick in the shade
Etude Pink. One look at the promotional pictures (thanks to
Michelle's update), and my inner voice had hearts in her eyes while yelling '
Get it! Get it!'.

Krystal is so pretty~ ❣◕ ‿ ◕❣ |
So got it I did, thanks to a friend who was visiting Korea. (๑>◡<๑) I've never been so infatuated with a lipstick since the
Peripera lipsticks. This limited edition offering from Etude House has definitely got me seeing pink!

Etude House My Blooming Lips-Talk Limited Edition Etude Pink |
I do not own any of the My Blooming Lip-Talk lipsticks from Etude House, so I can't really compare them, but one thing's for sure - it's packaged very differently from the regular range. Besides the Etude 'E' seal and glittery tulle accent, the Etude Pink version is packaged in a beautiful little box that adds extra
oomph to its overall presentation. I particularly love how the princessy design
(think jewels, bows, ribbons, pearls, lace) is illustrated both on the outside and inside of the box. Pictures below.

Never throwing the box away. Never. ಠ_ಠ |

So much pink! |
Of course, you just can't ignore how pretty the lipstick packaging is. There's a certain
je ne sais quoi about the vintage-style filigree seal and exquisitely delicate-looking glitter tulle that calls out to our inner girly girl, not to mention the light pink plastic tube that has a slight pearly sheen. Like the other Etude House lipsticks, the middle [seal-and-tulle] part can be removed, but honestly, do you even want to? (⌒_⌒;)
|
You can remove the middle part and use it as a ring or (mini) hair tie |
Now, moving on from the packaging to the lipstick itself.
Unlike the usual Etude House lipsticks (where shades are given codes like PK001), this limited edition version is labelled
Etude Pink. Essentially, it is the signature Etude House pink colour, made into a more wearable shade in lipstick form.

A cute little heart-carriage design is embossed on the side of the lipstick. As you can see, the lipstick itself is a sweet pink shade with some shimmer. Strangely enough, it leans warm in the tube but pulls cooler on the skin/lips. Swatches below.

You can see the slight shimmer here (click to enlarge) |
As you can see from the swatches above and below,
Etude Pink seems to have a warmer pink tinge in the tube and on white surfaces, but applies as a sheer and cool-toned pink on my skin and lips.

Me trying to imitate Krystal's pose (at the back) HAHAHAHA |
To be honest, I was slightly disappointed by the sheerness of the lipstick. I expected it to be fairly opaque, judging from the promotional images and the look of the lipstick itself, but it turned out to be a sheer, shimmery pink shade. Don't get me wrong, it's a very pretty shade, and perfect for that cute, princessy look; it just falls a little flat in terms of opacity. If I had to describe/compare it to my other lippies, I'd say it would be somewhere between the
Anna Sui Lip Rouge D373 (less sheer, less glittery, smaller shimmer) and
Peripera My Color Lips 04 Holy Pink (a sheerer version).
If you don't mind the
sheerness and
slight shimmer, this is a fairly
suit-all shade for warm or cool skin tones. I wouldn't really recommend it for those with darker lips/skin tones though. Texture-wise, the lipstick
glides on smoothly without tugging on the lips, and feels
quite moisturizing.
Longevity is average (3-4 hours with minimal eating/drinking) and the lipstick
doesn't stain, although it does leave some shimmer behind on the lips. There is a slight scent to the lipstick if you sniff it, but is not noticeable when applied on the lips. Make sure you prep your lips beforehand, as I find that it will show dry patches or lip lines.
The Etude House My Blooming Lips-talk lipstick in Etude Pink (Limited Edition) (3.4g) retails for 10,000₩ KRW in Korea. Availability is yet to be announced in South East Asia as of this posting.
✓ Pros: Gorgeous princessy packaging, affordable price (in KRW), pretty colour that suits warm/cool skin tones, doesn't stain lips, average longevity.
✗ Cons: Limited edition, availability yet unknown outside of S.Korea, sheer opacity, leaves slight shimmer on lips, will show dry patches/lip lines.
The bottom line? This Etude Pink lipstick may be on par with the Peripera ones in terms of packaging and presentation (heck, it's actually about 2% prettier), but it still won't take away their HG status in my book. ♪(◡‿◡)♫

I want it so badly..pretty & princessy packaging <3
I am surprised by how light pink it turned out. It isn't as dark pink as I thought or are there two versions?
Because it is different from what Krystal is wearing in the picture, but closer to the light pink that I saw on the lips of Sulli in the video showing this lipstick. When I saw the video I was actually hoping that the lighting made it look lighter.
Mieza: Haha yeah, we're all suckers for pretty packaging, eh? :P Thank you for the compliment ^^
Fifi: Yes indeed, it's gorgeous. :)
Jennifer: Hahahaha! *wink wink*
Sakuranko: Yes, it's so pretty I almost couldn't bare to use it, haha! You definitely need it on your dressing table, just to add that pinch of cute! ;)
Ahleessa: Aww thank you! Yes, they come out with so many cute/pretty things so fast, I can hardly keep up! >_<
Shasa: That's exactly how I felt before I held it in my hands, haha! It's so pretty and princessy~
Michelle: Yes, I was surprised that it was so sheer, since it looked like a very creamy/opaque colour in the ads and in the tube. I didn't really notice the colour on Krystal or Sulli but I guess they used the regular PK001 and also the Etude Pink for the ads? Haha~
