The 17th Asia Pacific Hair and Make-Up Olympics Competition is an annual event held by Asia Pacific Hairdressers and Cosmetologist Association (APHCA) in different countries around Asia Pacific region. This competition is created by APHCA for international and local talents to exhibit and share new knowledge, creativity and ideas with each other about hair and makeup. In addition to that, the competition also allows the industry players to pursue continuous updates about the latest trends and styles, be exposed to vast opportunities and advancing their careers.

The APCHA now consists of 18 member Asia Pacific countries, with Malaysia being the second latest member (Singapore is the most recent addition). This annual competition is became known as the 'Hair Olympics' by the industry because it is such a large-scale event, and also because there are strict criteria for participants, among which require them to be in the top 5 of their respective countries national competitions.

Out of the 18 member countries, 14 countries including Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea,
Mongolia, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and host
country Malaysia will be competing in the 17th Asia Pacific Hair & Make-Up Olympics held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC) this year.

Contestants will be
put to test through eight (8) intense round of competition throughout 7
October, from 10am till 6pm. The 8 rounds of competition consist of the
following:
- · Ladies Designer Hair Cut
- · Men’s Avant-Garde Hair Cut
- · Evening Elegant Hair Cut
- · Bridal Hair
- · Ladies Designer Make-Up
- · Evening Elegant Make-Up
- · Bridal Make-Up
- · Fantasy Make-Up
The APHCA is an annual event that aims to promote networking, fellowship, and education and learning for aspiring individuals in the beauty industry. It is also a platform for upcoming hairdressers and cosmetologists to showcase their talent and skills among peers in the Asia Pacific region.
