No, I'm not talking about food.

I'm referring to sunnies today. Sunglasses, shades, whatever you call them.

Sunglasses are, contrary to popular belief, more than just a fashion accessory. They also actually help shield your eyes from bright sunlight, which can damage the eyes. Or if you're a famous celebrity, as a partial disguise from the paparazzi. (ಠ_ಠ) Anyway, since I suffered from short-sightedness since 11or 12, I only started to wear shades in college when I finally got contact lenses. It was liberating, so say the least.

Aviators are great, because they instantly add a “rock star” feel to any outfit. In addition, they’re one of the most universally-flattering shapes for sunglasses, and they pretty much look good on everyone. My favourite pair of aviators are the white ones from Vincci; the huge frame ones above I hardly wear (I bought them for fun because they were dirt cheap at Cotton On lllorz).

Wayfarer-style shades are a classic shape, like the aviator, that will never go out of style. In addition, these sunglasses go with just about everything, which is why they are perfect for everyday wear.

Purple and orange (Cotton On)

 I always think of the purple (left) pair as wayfarers, although the shape resembles an aviator more. (^_^;) These two are the ones I grab most frequently before heading out on sunny days.

Regular geek frames (Tangs); Harry Potter round frame specs (Taobao)

Okay, these aren't sunnies but they are accessories. Fake nerd glasses are all the rage these days; lenses optional. Once the unmentionable property exclusive to nerds, they are now considered a must-have accessory for geek chic fashion. I'll admit, there's a certain charm to it when done right.

Exactly what I mean by 'doing it right'.

This particular pair I bought because it was inspired by the ones Yuchun wore in Rooftop Prince. They're actually pretty sturdy for something that cost less than RM20. (⊙_⊙)

After seeing the shameless parade of selcas various types of glasses that I have in my collection, which type would you pick to wear? My favourites are definitely the wayfarers (bought from Cotton On for RM6 each LOL) and the white aviator (from Vincci), because they suit my face shape and match with all sorts of outfits.

Of course, what goes on must come off eventually.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is how you take off your shades in slow motion like a boss. Helicopter in the background optional.
Unless you're very annoyed and want to take them off really quickly, then you do this.
